Oude Russische capsule valt terug naar de aarde

Een oude Russische ruimtecapsule is weer terug op aarde gekomen.
De capsule heet Kosmos 482 en werd in het jaar 1972 gelanceerd.

De bedoeling was dat de capsule naar de planeet Venus zou gaan, maar dat is niet gelukt.
Door een storing bleef de capsule rond de aarde draaien.

Op 10 mei 2025 viel de capsule weer terug in de atmosfeer van de aarde.
Waarschijnlijk is hij in de Indische Oceaan terechtgekomen.

De capsule was erg stevig. Hij kon de hitte en de druk tijdens het terugkomen goed aan, daarom is hij niet helemaal opgebrand.
Misschien zijn er nog stukjes van de capsule op aarde gevallen.
Tot nu toe heeft niemand iets gevonden.

Er is geen gevaar voor mensen.
Toch laat dit zien dat oude ruimtetuigen terug naar de aarde kunnen komen en soms gevaarlijk kunnen zijn.

An old Russian space capsule has returned to Earth.
The capsule is called Kosmos 482 and was launched in the year 1972.

The intention was that the capsule would go to the planet Venus, but that did not succeed.
Due to a malfunction, the capsule remained orbiting the Earth.

On May 10, 2025, the capsule re-entered the Earth's atmosphere.
It likely ended up in the Indian Ocean.

The capsule was very sturdy. It could withstand the heat and pressure during re-entry well, which is why it did not completely burn up.
Maybe some pieces of the capsule fell on Earth.
So far, no one has found anything.

There is no danger to people.
Still, this shows that old spacecraft can come back to Earth and sometimes be dangerous.
