Vanavond hebben we een spelletjesavond met vriendinnen. (Tonight we have a game night with girlfriends.)
In plaats van uit te gaan naar de discotheek, spelen we Dixit. (Instead of going out to the disco, we play Dixit.)
Om negen uur komen alle vriendinnen langs. We zijn met z'n zessen. (At nine o'clock all the girlfriends arrive. There are six of us.)
Dixit is een spel waarbij je elkaar beter leert kennen door te luisteren naar de beschrijvingen van de kaarten. (Dixit is a game where you get to know each other better by listening to the descriptions of the cards.)
Het spel is makkelijk te leren, duurt ongeveer dertig minuten en is geschikt vanaf acht jaar. (The game is easy to learn, lasts about thirty minutes, and is suitable from eight years old.)
Iedereen kiest een kleur en een pion. (Everyone chooses a color and a pawn.)
Als je aan de beurt bent, kies je een kaart uit je hand. (When it is your turn, you choose a card from your hand.)
De verteller beschrijft zijn kaart, en de anderen zoeken een kaart uit hun hand die er het meest op lijkt. (The storyteller describes their card, and the others pick a card from their hand that looks most like it.)
Iedereen probeert te raden welke kaart van de verteller is. (Everyone tries to guess which card belongs to the storyteller.)
Je stemt met een telwiel, niet met een dobbelsteen. (You vote with a scoring wheel, not with dice.)
