Si tienes hambre, te recomiendo ir a Pez Tortilla antes de llegar a Sol. (If you're hungry, I recommend going to Pez Tortilla before you reach Sol.)
Ya estamos en Sol; fijaos en el sol que está en el suelo, es un símbolo antiguo. (We're now at Sol; look at the sun on the ground — it's an ancient symbol.)
Salimos de Sol y subimos por la calle Montera, que siempre tiene mucha gente. (We leave Sol and go up Montera Street, which is always very busy.)
Llegamos a la parada de Gran Vía, que estuvo cerrada muchos años por reformas. (We arrive at the Gran Vía station, which was closed for many years for renovations.)
Ahora está reformada y es muy moderna; seguimos la ruta por Gran Vía. (It has now been refurbished and is very modern; we continue the route along Gran Vía.)

Exercise 2: Dialogue

Instruction: Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

Marco está de visita en Toledo. Está un poco perdido y necesita llegar a la estación de tren. Un señor le ayuda.

Marco is visiting Toledo. He is a bit lost and needs to get to the train station. A gentleman helps him.
1. Marco: Perdón, ¿puede ayudarme? ¿Dónde está la estación de tren? (Excuse me, can you help me? I'm a bit lost. Where is the train station?)
2. Señor: La estación está cerca, pero hay que caminar un poco. ¿Vas andando? (Sure, don't worry. The station is nearby, but you have to walk a little. Are you walking there?)
3. Marco: Sí, voy andando. (Yes, I'm walking. I'm not in a hurry, I just want to find the right way.)
4. Señor: Perfecto. Anda por esta calle todo recto. Pasarás una plaza grande con una fuente. (Perfect. Walk straight down this street. You'll pass a large square with a fountain.)
5. Marco: Vale, todo recto, plaza, fuente… ¿Y luego? (Okay, straight ahead, square, fountain… And then?)
6. Señor: Después, en el segundo semáforo, gira a la izquierda. Luego sigue caminando unos cinco minutos. (Then, at the second traffic light, turn left. After that, keep walking for about five minutes.)
7. Marco: Genial. Cuánto tardaré? Me has dicho que no está lejos, ¿no? (Great. Is there any sign or notice?)
8. Señor: Unos 20 minutos. Si quieres, en la parada al lado pasa el autobús número 7 y te deja justo enfrente de la estación. (Yes, you'll see a blue sign that says 'Central Station'. Also, many people go that way.)
9. Marco: ¡Ah, perfecto! ¿Hay alguna oficina de información turística por aquí? (How long will it take? You said it's not far, right?)
10. Señor: Sí, está justo al lado de la plaza, frente a la tienda de souvenirs. Allí te pueden dar un mapa. (Not long, but the number 7 bus stops here and it drops you right in front of the station.)
11. Marco: ¡Muchas gracias por toda la información! (Ah, perfect! Is there a tourist information office nearby?)
12. Señor: De nada. Te recomiendo visitar el parque que está en el centro, es muy bonito. Solo tienes que volver por esta calle. (Yes, it's right next to the square, opposite the souvenir shop. They can give you a map there.)
