Freddy erklärt in dem Video die Gründe die er dafür sieht, warum Hobbies heutzutage nicht mehr so wichtig sind, bzw. so viel Spaß machen wie früher.
Freddy explains in the video the reasons he sees why hobbies today are no longer as important or as much fun as they used to be.

Ich denke mir ganz oft: Wie kann ich eine bestimmte Sache schneller oder besser machen? (I often think to myself: How can I do a certain thing faster or better?)
Diese Logik sollten wir beim Hobby nicht anwenden. (We shouldn't apply this logic to a hobby.)
„Ich übe nicht einfach einen Song, weil er mir Spaß macht, sondern ich will dabei schneller werden. (“I don't just practice a song because I enjoy it; I want to get faster at it.)
Ich will möglichst schnell Fortschritte machen.“ (I want to make progress as quickly as possible.”)
Darauf sollte es beim Hobby nicht ankommen. (That shouldn't be what a hobby is about.)
Wenn du das Gefühl hast, du musst irgendwie schneller und besser werden, dann machst du dir damit wahrscheinlich dein Hobby kaputt. (If you feel like you somehow have to get faster and better, then you're probably ruining your hobby for yourself.)
Grund Nummer zwei, warum Hobbys keinen Spaß mehr machen: Alternativen. (Reason number two why hobbies stop being fun: alternatives.)
Früher hat man zum Beispiel eine Gitarre, eine Hantel oder ein Buch geschenkt bekommen. (In the past, for example, you would be given a guitar, a dumbbell, or a book as a gift.)
Und man hatte relativ wenig Alternativen. (And you had relatively few alternatives.)

Tim and Lola are frustrated and stressed from work and want to find a hobby together to reduce stress.
1. Tim: Ich habe in letzter Zeit sehr viel gearbeitet und jetzt kaum noch Freizeit. (I have worked a lot lately and now I hardly have any free time.)
2. Lola: Ja, ich auch. Früher hatte ich mehr Zeit. (Yes, me too. In the past I had more time.)
3. Tim: Ich möchte gern Zeit für ein Hobby haben. (I would like to have time for a hobby.)
4. Lola: Das stimmt, das ist wichtig. Früher habe ich viel gemalt. (That's true, that's important. In the past I used to paint a lot.)
5. Tim: Hat dir das Spaß gemacht? (Did you enjoy that?)
6. Lola: Ja, das war sehr entspannend. (Yes, that was very relaxing.)
7. Tim: Vielleicht probiere ich das auch. Bald möchte ich wieder Sport machen. (Maybe I'll try that too. Soon I want to do sports again.)
8. Lola: Vielleicht können wir zusammen Fußball spielen? (Maybe we can play soccer together?)
9. Tim: Gute Idee. Am Wochenende können wir uns treffen und einen Platz finden. (Good idea. On the weekend we can meet and find a field.)
10. Lola: Sehr gern. Ein neues Hobby und Aktivitäten sind bei all dem Stress sehr wichtig. (I'd love to. A new hobby and activities are very important with all this stress.)
