The general term for "work" or "job" is praca. When discussing expectations (oczekiwania) versus reality (rzeczywistość), Polish commonly uses these nouns together in sentences like „Oczekiwania nie spełniły się w rzeczywistości.” (Expectations were not met in reality.)

Useful phrases for talking about work include:
