Lisa and Tom talk about how they plan their December holidays and what activities they do during the festivities such as Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year.

El seis de abril sustituye al treinta y uno de mayo, que cae en domingo. (April 6 replaces May 31, which falls on a Sunday.)
Otro festivo es el uno de mayo. (Another holiday is May 1.)
También es el cuatro de junio, que sustituye al seis de diciembre, que cae en domingo. (There is also June 4, which replaces December 6 because that date falls on a Sunday.)
Hay festivo el quince de agosto. (There is a holiday on August 15.)
También están el doce de octubre y el dos de noviembre, que sustituye al uno de noviembre. (There are also October 12 and November 2, the latter replacing November 1.)
Los últimos festivos son el ocho de diciembre y el veinticinco de diciembre. (The last holidays are December 8 and December 25.)
Estos días respetan las tradiciones y ayudan al equilibrio entre la vida personal y la laboral. (These days honor traditions and help balance personal and working life.)

Lisa y Tom hablan sobre sus planes para las vacaciones de diciembre y las fiestas (Navidad, Nochevieja y Año Nuevo).

Lisa and Tom talk about their plans for the December holidays and the celebrations (Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year).
1. Tom: ¡Hola, Lisa! ¿Tienes planes para las vacaciones? (Hi, Lisa! Do you have any plans for the holidays?)
2. Lisa: ¡Hola, Tom! Sí, estoy planeando un viaje a Alemania. Quiero pasar la Navidad con mi familia. (Hi, Tom! Yes, I'm planning a trip to Germany. I want to spend Christmas with my family.)
3. Tom: ¡Qué bien! Yo también estoy organizando mi viaje. ¡Me voy en tres días! (That's great! I'm organizing my trip too. I'm leaving in three days!)
4. Lisa: Yo salgo el 20 de diciembre. Este año quiero disfrutar del fin de semana antes de la fiesta. (I'm leaving on December 20. This year I want to enjoy the weekend before the celebration.)
5. Tom: ¿Y cómo celebras la Nochevieja? (How do you celebrate New Year's Eve?)
6. Lisa: Con mi familia. Vamos a salir, tomar unas copas y luego volver a casa, cenar y jugar a algunos juegos de mesa. ¿Y tú? (With my family. We'll go out, have a few drinks, then go back home, have dinner and play some board games. What about you?)
7. Tom: Yo también. Empiezo el Año Nuevo feliz, rodeado de toda la familia. (Me too. I like to start the New Year happily, surrounded by the whole family.)
8. Lisa: ¡Exacto! No me gusta planear mucho: lo que pasa, pasa. (Exactly! I don't like to plan too much — whatever happens, happens.)
9. Tom: Eso sí. ¿Y vuelves antes del 6 de enero? Tenemos que celebrar algo juntos aquí... (Right. Will you be back before January 6? We need to celebrate something together here...)
10. Lisa: Claro, vamos a ver cuándo volvemos. (Of course — we'll see when we return.)
11. Tom: Perfecto. Me voy ahora. ¡Disfruta de tus vacaciones! (Perfect. I'm off now. Enjoy your holiday!)
12. Lisa: Tú también. Nos vemos pronto. (You too. See you soon.)
