Exercise 1: Dialogue

Instruction: 1. Read the dialogue in pairs. 2. Memorize the phrases by covering the translation. 3. Cover one speaker’s lines, give alternative answers with your teacher, and write them down.

Sara y Juan organizan tareas para terminar un proyecto en equipo.

Sara and Juan organise tasks to finish a team project.
1. Juán: Tenemos que entregar el informe mañana, así que tenemos que trabajar juntos. (We have to deliver the report tomorrow, so we need to work together.)
2. Sara: Vale, pero cuidado con los datos del cliente. Si tenemos prisa y no lo hacemos bien, puede haber problemas. (Okay, but be careful with the client's data. If we're in a hurry and don't do it well, there can be problems.)
3. Juán: No te preocupes, lo revisaré dos veces. Y tú, evita contestar el teléfono durante la reunión. El jefe está un poco enfadado. (Don't worry, I will review it twice. And you, avoid answering the phone during the meeting. The boss is a bit angry.)
4. Sara: De acuerdo. Podemos repartir las tareas. Yo haré las facturas y tú terminarás el diseño. (Alright. We can divide the tasks. I will do the invoices and you will finish the design.)
5. Juán: Perfecto. Si tienes dudas, mándame un correo para aclararlo. (Perfect. If you have doubts, send me an email to clarify it.)
6. Sara: No pasa nada. ¿Puedes hablar con el jefe de equipo? Ahora tengo reunión y quiere comentarnos algo. (It's okay. Can you talk to the team leader? I have a meeting now and he wants to tell us something.)
7. Juán: Claro, pero no olvides enviarle el archivo antes. (Sure, but don't forget to send him the file first.)
8. Sara: Ah, sí. Y tú, informa a los compañeros sobre los progresos. (Ah, yes. And you, inform the coworkers about the progress.)
9. Juán: Tienes razón. Todos tenemos que ayudarnos para acabar a tiempo. (You're right. We all have to help each other to finish on time.)
10. Sara: Y apoyarnos también. Si alguien tiene un problema, lo solucionamos entre todos. (And support each other too. If someone has a problem, we solve it together.)
11. Juán: Muy bien. Entonces yo me encargo del diseño después. (Very well. Then I will take care of the design later.)
12. Sara: Genial. No tomemos decisiones sin consultarlo antes con el equipo. (Great. Let's not make decisions without consulting the team first.)
13. Juán: Exacto. Tenemos que ser flexibles. (Exactly. We have to be flexible.)
14. Sara: Vale, me ocupo de estos papeles y tú tienes que irte ya, ¡nos están esperando! (Okay, I'll take care of these papers and you have to leave now, they're waiting for us!)
