Instruction: Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

Préparer la table pour ce soir

Setting the table for tonight
1. Noah: Veux-tu que je t’aide à mettre la table pour ce soir ? (Do you want me to help you set the table for tonight?)
2. Maman: Oui, s’il te plaît. Commence par mettre les assiettes sur la table. (Yes, please. Start by putting the plates on the table.)
3. Noah: C’est bon ! Je mets les serviettes au-dessus ou en dessous des assiettes ? (Okay! Should I put the napkins on top of or under the plates?)
4. Maman: Au-dessus. Et après, mets les couverts à côté des assiettes. (On top. And then put the cutlery next to the plates.)
5. Noah: Pas de souci. Où est-ce que je mets les verres à vin et les verres à eau ? (No problem. Where should I put the wine glasses and the water glasses?)
6. Maman: Les verres à vin sont pour les adultes et les verres à eau pour tout le monde. (The wine glasses are for the adults and the water glasses are for everyone.)
7. Noah: Oui, je sais, mais où sont assis les adultes ? (Yes, I know, but where are the adults sitting?)
8. Maman: Ton père et moi sommes en bout de table. Ta grand-mère est en face de moi et ton grand-père est à côté d’elle. (Your father and I are at the ends of the table. Your grandmother is opposite me and your grandfather is beside her.)
9. Noah: Je préfère quand grand-père est près de moi. Je ne peux pas lui parler s’il est si loin. (I prefer when Grandpa sits near me. I can't talk to him if he's so far away.)
10. Maman: Eh bien, change de place avec ta sœur. Essuie la table, s’il te plaît ! (Well, swap seats with your sister. Wipe the table, please!)
11. Noah: D’accord. Je remplis la bouteille d’eau aussi ? (All right. Should I fill the water bottle too?)
12. Maman: Oui, et ce soir tu m’aides à faire la vaisselle. (Yes, and tonight you’ll help me with the dishes.)
13. Noah: Oh là là ! Je préfère quand on mange chez grand-mère, il n’y a rien à faire ! (Oh dear! I prefer when we eat at Grandma's — there's nothing for me to do!)
