Hallo,
am Montag fliegen wir zusammen nach Berlin zur Konferenz. Ich nehme nur Handgepäck mit, also einen kleinen Koffer. Der Koffer ist schnell voll, deshalb muss ich gut einpacken.
Ich nehme außerdem einen kleinen Rucksack. Die Airline erlaubt 8 kg, mein Koffer wiegt jetzt 7,5 kg. Ich brauche noch den Laptop, Unterwäsche und meine Sonnenbrille – das ist mir wichtig.

Hi,
On Monday we fly to Berlin together for the conference. I’m only taking hand luggage — a small suitcase. The suitcase fills up quickly, so I have to pack carefully.
I’m also taking a small backpack. The airline allows 8 kg; my suitcase currently weighs 7.5 kg. I still need to pack my laptop, underwear and my sunglasses — those are important to me.

vielen Dank für deine E‑Mail. Ich habe meinen Koffer fast fertig gepackt. Ich nehme einen kleinen Koffer und einen Rucksack mit. Der Koffer ist schon ziemlich voll, trotzdem packe ich noch Hemden und Unterwäsche ein. Laptop und wichtige Dokumente sind im Rucksack. Meine Sonnenbrille und eine kleine Kulturtasche kommen auch ins Handgepäck.
Obwohl ich wenig Platz habe, möchte ich nichts Wichtiges vergessen. Hoffentlich gibt es am Flughafen keine Probleme mit dem Gewicht.

Hi Sabine,
thanks for your e-mail. I’ve almost finished packing my suitcase. I’m taking a small suitcase and a backpack. The suitcase is already quite full, but I’ll still pack shirts and underwear. The laptop and important documents are in the backpack. My sunglasses and a small toiletry bag are also in my hand luggage.
Although I have little space, I don’t want to forget anything important. I hope there won’t be any problems with the weight at the airport.
