Polish verbs often have more complex conjugations than English verbs. For example, the verb "padać" (to fall, as in rain or snow) changes form depending on the subject: "pada" (it falls), "padają" (they fall). Unlike English, Polish nouns for months and seasons are not capitalized. Also, Polish expresses time of year with prepositional case endings, like "w zimie" (in winter) and "wiosną" (in spring), which have no direct one-word equivalents in English.
