Hallo Alex,

hast du gestern Abend die Nachrichten im Fernsehen gesehen? Die Situation in Berlin war wirklich schlimm. Nach dem Brandanschlag hatten viele Haushalte keinen Strom.

Ich habe zuerst im Radio den Wetterbericht gehört und danach eine Sendung über den Unfall gesehen. In der Zeitung stand heute Morgen, dass die Reparatur schneller als geplant ging.

Wie war es bei dir? Hattest du auch Probleme zu Hause oder im Büro? Ich möchte mich gern ein bisschen informieren.

Hi Alex,

Did you watch the news on television last night? The situation in Berlin was really bad. After the arson attack, many households had no power.

I first heard the weather report on the radio and later saw a program about the accident. The newspaper said this morning that the repairs went faster than planned.

How was it for you? Did you also have problems at home or at the office? I'd like to know a bit more.

Hallo Julia,

vielen Dank für deine E‑Mail. Ja, ich habe die Nachrichten im Fernsehen gesehen und auch im Radio gehört. Die Situation sah wirklich schlimm aus.

Bei mir zu Hause hatten wir zum Glück Strom. Im Büro gab es kurz einen Ausfall: die Computer funktionierten für ungefähr zwanzig Minuten nicht. Gegen 10 Uhr war die Stromversorgung wieder da.

Ich finde es gut, dass die Reparatur so schnell ging. Ich lese heute Abend noch etwas in der Zeitung dazu und sage dir Bescheid, falls ich mehr erfahre.

Hi Julia,

thanks for your e-mail. Yes, I watched the news on television and also heard it on the radio. The situation really looked serious.

Luckily we had power at home. At the office there was a short outage: the computers were down for about twenty minutes. By around 10 a.m. the power was back.

I’m glad the repairs went so quickly. I’ll read more about it in the newspaper tonight and let you know if I find out anything else.
