  • ausreichend Schlaf (adequate sleep) – getting enough rest each night.
  • Stress reduzieren (to reduce stress) – managing mental pressure effectively.

Useful Phrases for Talking about Habits

  • Ich habe angefangen, mich gesünder zu ernähren. (I have started eating healthier.)
  • Du solltest mehr Sport treiben. (You should exercise more.)
  • Rauchen ist schlecht für die Gesundheit. (Smoking is bad for health.)
  • Es ist wichtig, genug Schlaf zu bekommen. (It is important to get enough sleep.)

Language Tips: Differences Between English and German

While English often uses the gerund (e.g., "eating healthy"), German tends to use noun phrases like "gesunde Ernährung" (healthy diet). Also, German separates adjectives and nouns differently; for example, "gesunde Ernährung" rather than "gesundes Essen" for emphasizing a balanced diet.

Gender plays a significant role: notice articles like die Gesundheit (feminine) and der Stress (masculine). Phrases often use modal verbs such as sollte (should) to give recommendations.
