En la clínica dental se revisan hoy opciones de prótesis fija. La se indica cuando el diente está muy dañado y necesita más resistencia. El se usa si falta una pieza y se apoya en los dientes vecinos. Para una zona pequeña, a veces se realiza una (onlay). Para mejorar la en los dientes frontales, se puede colocar una carilla cerámica.
En la elección del material: el es muy resistente y se usa en molares con mucha masticatoria. La cerámica metal-porcelana es una opción intermedia. El metal dura mucho, pero es menos estético. En el gabinete se prepara el diente, se toma la impresión, se coloca un provisional y, al final, se ajusta y se cementa.In the dental clinic, fixed prosthetics options are reviewed today. A crown is indicated when the tooth is very damaged and needs more strength. A bridge is used if a tooth is missing and it is supported by the neighboring teeth. For a small area, sometimes an inlay (onlay) is done. To improve aesthetics in the front teeth, a ceramic veneer can be placed.
When choosing the material: zirconia is very strong and is used on molars with a lot of chewing load. Metal-porcelain ceramic is an intermediate option. Metal lasts a long time, but it is less aesthetic. In the operatory, the tooth is prepared, an impression is taken, a temporary is placed and, in the end, it is adjusted and cemented.

I agree that <strong>zirconia</strong> is a good option if the patient doesn’t want metal and values <strong>aesthetics</strong>. Since it’s a molar with a lot of <strong>masticatory load</strong>, we should review the clenching habit before deciding. If the wear or the occlusion are high, we can recommend <strong>metal-ceramic</strong> because of its greater <strong>durability</strong>, and explain the differences to the patient.
Tomorrow you can <strong>take the impression</strong> and place the <strong>temporary</strong>. I’ll prepare a brief explanation for the patient with the two options and the pros and cons, and I’ll give him an approximate estimate. If you want, call me before the appointment.
