To avoid misunderstandings, we would like to remind everyone that social etiquette can vary: some people prefer a more formal approach and others value closeness more. If there is a language barrier, you can ask for support from an interpreter or use short, clear phrases.
When there is hearing loss or memory impairment, it is advisable to speak slowly, look at the person, and facilitate communication with visual support (signs, a schedule, or pictograms). It is useful to ask for confirmation, repeat key information, and rephrase it if necessary. It is also recommended to accompany the resident through routine changes and leave a written reminder.

Hello Marta,
Yes, I can accompany tomorrow’s meeting at 11:30.
To facilitate communication with the family and with Pilar, I will speak slowly and clearly. At the end of each topic I will ask for confirmation, for example: “Have I explained it well?”. If I see that there are misunderstandings due to cultural nuances, I will rephrase the information with simpler sentences. I will bring a calendar and paper reminders as visual support.
Would you like me to prepare a list of the main topics to review beforehand?
Thank you,
