Important Language Notes
Unlike English, Bulgarian verbs are conjugated depending on the person and number and use different prefixes or forms to express nuances such as 'to get up' (става́м) or 'to go' (оти́вам). Also, Bulgarian does not use articles in the same way English does, and prepositions like на (to/on) are frequent before places or times.
Common expressions you will practice include:
- всяка сутрин – every morning
- пия кафе и закусвам – I drink coffee and have breakfast
- отивам на работа с градски транспорт – I go to work by public transport
- обикновено работя от девет до пет – I usually work from nine to five
- след работа ходя на спорт – after work I go to the gym
- лягам си около десет вечерта – I go to bed around ten in the evening
