Je m’appelle Karim et je suis médecin dans un public à Lyon. J’ai un de médecine de mon pays et un master en santé publique. En France, je dois encore faire des stages et des formations, mais je travaille déjà avec l’équipe.

Je travaille surtout dans le de cardiologie. Notre service est au troisième étage. À côté, il y a le service de et, plus loin, le service des urgences. Je commence ma journée à 8 heures. D’abord, je vais au de soins pour parler avec les infirmières et les aides-soignants. Nous regardons les dossiers patients et nous organisons la du matin.

Mon travail est très varié : je donne des consignes à l’équipe, j’explique les traitements aux patients et je travaille en équipe avec les autres médecins. J’aime mon poste, car je peux utiliser mon expérience et apprendre le système de santé français.
My name is Karim and I am a doctor at a public hospital in Lyon. I have a medical degree from my country and a master's in public health. In France, I still need to complete internships and trainings, but I already work with the team.

I mainly work in the cardiology department. Our department is on the third floor. Next door is the radiology department and, a little further on, the emergency department. I start my day at 8:00. First, I go to the nurses' station to talk with the nurses and nursing assistants. We review the patient files and plan the morning round.

Then I go to the patients' rooms. I check the hospital bed, the monitoring equipment and the blood pressure cuff. I always wear a white coat, an identification badge and safety shoes. When a patient cannot walk, we use a wheelchair or a stretcher to go to the examination room or the operating room.

My work is very varied: I give instructions to the team, I explain treatments to patients and I collaborate with the other doctors. I enjoy my position because I can use my experience and learn the French healthcare system.

Welcome to our hospital in Lyon. You will start working with us on the 1st of next month.

You will work in the pediatrics ward. It is a department for children, on the 3rd floor. In this ward there is:

  • a large waiting room for families,
  • rooms with two or three hospital beds,
  • a small examination room for check-ups,
  • and a small hospital pharmacy for children's medications.

Your head of department is Dr Martin. He wears a white lab coat and a blue professional uniform. As a nurse, you must also wear the lab coat, the professional uniform and safety shoes. You will frequently use gloves, a stethoscope and sometimes an IV drip.

Je m’appelle Ana Silva et je suis infirmière portugaise. J’habite en France depuis deux ans.

Mon niveau d’études est licence en soins infirmiers. J’ai un diplôme d’infirmière depuis 2015. J’ai travaillé trois ans dans un hôpital à Lisbonne, au service de maternité, et quatre ans dans un cabinet médical pour enfants.

Dans mon travail, je m’occupe des patients et des familles.
