For inhalers and injections, the nurse follows the facility’s guidelines. She calmly explains to the resident how to use the medication and what the maximum daily dose is. Expired tablets and suppositories are collected separately according to the waste schedule. The expiration date is checked weekly to ensure no incorrect medication is given.
