Pflegekraft Frau Yilmaz: Show Guten Morgen, Herr Schubert. Ich gehe kurz mit Ihnen die präoperative Checkliste durch, damit wir die Operationsfreigabe erhalten.

(Good morning, Mr. Schubert. I’ll quickly go through the preoperative checklist with you so we can get approval for the operation.)

Patient Herr Schubert: Show Guten Morgen. Ich bin etwas nervös und unsicher, ob ich wirklich nüchtern geblieben bin.

(Good morning. I’m a bit nervous and not sure whether I really stayed fasting.)

Pflegekraft Frau Yilmaz: Show Okay, seit wann haben Sie nichts mehr gegessen oder getrunken? Auch kein Kaffee oder Kaugummi?

(Okay—since when have you had nothing to eat or drink? Not even coffee or chewing gum?)

Patient Herr Schubert: Show Ich habe gestern Abend normal gegessen, aber heute früh habe ich versehentlich einen Schluck Wasser genommen.

(I ate normally last night, but this morning I accidentally took a sip of water.)

Pflegekraft Frau Yilmaz: Show Danke, dass Sie es sagen. Einen kleinen Schluck müssen wir ärztlich abklären; meistens ist das kein Problem. Ich dokumentiere das und informiere die Anästhesie.

(Thank you for telling me. A small sip needs to be checked by a doctor; in most cases it’s not a problem. I’ll note it down and inform anesthesia.)

Patient Herr Schubert: Show Und bekomme ich eine Sedierung oder eine Allgemeinanästhesie? Ich habe Angst, etwas mitzubekommen.

(Will I get sedation or general anesthesia? I’m afraid of being aware of something.)

Pflegekraft Frau Yilmaz: Show Bei einer Sedierung sind Sie sehr schläfrig und entspannt; bei einer Allgemeinanästhesie schlafen Sie vollständig. Die Anästhesistin erklärt gleich das genaue Verfahren, und Sie können Fragen stellen.

(With sedation you’ll be very drowsy and relaxed; with general anesthesia you’ll be fully asleep. The anesthesiologist will explain the exact procedure shortly, and you’ll be able to ask questions.)

Patient Herr Schubert: Show Das beruhigt mich. Können Sie auch kurz sagen, wie es nach der Operation weitergeht?

(That makes me feel better. Can you also briefly explain what happens after the operation?)

Pflegekraft Frau Yilmaz: Show Nach der OP kommen Sie ins Aufwachzimmer, dort überwachen wir die Vitalzeichen, beginnen die Schmerztherapie und dann geht es zur Nachsorge auf Station.

(After the surgery you’ll go to the recovery room, where we monitor your vital signs, start pain treatment, and then transfer you to the ward for postoperative care.)

Patientin Frau Krüger: Show Mir ist schwindlig und ich habe Bauchschmerzen. Ist das nach der Anästhesie normal?

(I feel dizzy and have abdominal pain. Is that normal after anesthesia?)

Pflegekraft Herr Neumann: Show Ein bisschen Schwindel kann vorkommen. Wegen der Schmerzen schaue ich in die Schmerztherapie-Anordnung und gebe Ihnen gleich etwas, okay?

(A bit of dizziness can occur. About the pain: I’ll check the pain-medication orders and give you something shortly, okay?)

Patientin Frau Krüger: Show Ja, bitte. Und was ist mit der Wunde? Ich habe Angst vor einer Entzündung.

(Yes, please. And what about the wound? I’m worried about an infection.)

Pflegekraft Herr Neumann: Show Die Wundversorgung erfolgt aseptisch, also keimarm. Der Verband bleibt zunächst drauf; wir achten auf Rötung, Wärme oder Nässen als Anzeichen einer Komplikation.

(Wound care is done aseptically, meaning as germ-free as possible. The dressing will stay on at first; we watch for redness, warmth, or fluid as signs of a complication.)

Patientin Frau Krüger: Show Muss ich heute schon aufstehen? Ich fühle mich noch sehr schwach.

(Do I have to get up today? I still feel very weak.)

Pflegekraft Herr Neumann: Show Wir planen eine frühe Mobilisation in kleinen Schritten: zuerst an die Bettkante, dann kurz stehen. Ich bleibe bei Ihnen und wir hören sofort auf, wenn es nicht geht.

(We plan early mobilization in small steps: first to the edge of the bed, then standing briefly. I’ll stay with you and we’ll stop right away if it doesn’t feel right.)

Patientin Frau Krüger: Show Und wie komme ich zurück auf Station?

(And how will I get back to the ward?)

Pflegekraft Herr Neumann: Show Wenn Ihre Werte stabil sind, organisiert der Transportassistent den Rücktransport. Ich beobachte Sie noch postoperativ und dokumentiere alles für die Nachsorge.

(If your vital signs are stable, the transport assistant will arrange your return. I’ll continue to monitor you postoperatively and document everything for follow-up care.)
