He also says that he has a bad taste in his mouth and that he can hardly bite. Could you call him back to briefly check whether there is fever, whether there is gum bleeding or post-extraction bleeding, and whether he has taken painkillers? Also note whether he has noticed a loose crown or a broken tooth.

Ik heb meneer Van Dijk zojuist teruggebeld. Hij heeft geen koorts volgens zichzelf (hij meet 37,2 °C). Er is geen nabloeding na extractie. Wel zegt hij dat zijn tandvlees rechts onder soms bloedt bij het poetsen en dat hij een aanhoudende vieze smaak heeft. De pijn is constant en wordt erger bij koud drinken en bij het bijten.
Hij heeft vanmorgen om 11:00 400 mg ibuprofen genomen; dat vermindert de pijn weinig. Hij ziet geen gebroken tand, maar hij vermoedt dat een kroon loszit aan die kant.
Ik noteer dit in het dossier en heb hem gevraagd geen hete dranken te nemen en rust te houden tot de afspraak. Wilt u dat ik nog iets extra vraag of meeneem naar de afspraak?

Hi Dr Jansen,
I just called Mr Van Dijk back. He has no fever according to himself (he measures 37.2 °C). There is no post-extraction bleeding. However, he says that his gums on the lower right sometimes bleed when brushing and that he has a persistent bad taste. The pain is constant and gets worse with cold drinks and when biting.
This morning at 11:00 he took 400 mg ibuprofen; that reduces the pain only slightly. He does not see a broken tooth, but he suspects that a crown is loose on that side.
I will note this in the file and asked him not to have hot drinks and to rest until the appointment. Would you like me to ask anything else or bring anything to the appointment?
