Onderwerp: Gevoelige kies na vulling
Beste tandartsassistente,
Gisteren heeft de tandarts bij mij een vulling gemaakt in een kies rechtsboven. Sindsdien is die kies gevoelig voor koud water en bij het kauwen. Is dit normaal na het boren en het uitharden met blauw licht? Ik ben ook bang dat er weer een gaatje zit.
Wat kan ik thuis doen en wanneer moet ik terugkomen voor controle?

Dank u voor uw bericht. Na een vulling kan een kies enkele dagen gevoelig zijn, vooral bij koude dranken en bij kauwen. Dit komt vaak door het boren en de behandeling van het tandweefsel. Het uitharden met blauw licht maakt de vulling hard, maar gevoel kan blijven.
U kunt pijnstilling nemen volgens de bijsluiter, lauwe dranken gebruiken en aan de andere kant kauwen. Blijft de pijn na 5 tot 7 dagen of wordt de pijn erger, neem dan contact met ons op. We maken dan een controle-afspraak om te kijken of de vulling aangepast moet worden of dat er iets anders aan de hand is.

Dear Mrs. De Vries,
Thank you for your message. After a filling, a tooth can be sensitive for a few days, especially with cold drinks and when chewing. This is often due to the drilling and treatment of the tooth tissue. The curing with blue light makes the filling hard, but sensitivity can remain.
You can take pain relief according to the package leaflet, use lukewarm drinks, and chew on the other side. If the pain remains after 5 to 7 days or if the pain gets worse, please contact us. We will then make a check-up appointment to see whether the filling needs to be adjusted or if something else is going on.
