During the procedure he irrigates the canals several times with hypochlorite to clean and disinfect them thoroughly. When the canals are dry, he fills them with gutta-percha and root canal sealer. At the end he checks the bite and places a temporary filling. He tells the patient that the tooth may still be sensitive for a few days after the treatment and that he should call if the pain gets worse or if he develops a fever.
