Internal work procedure – treatment rooms

For each patient, the dentist and assistant use short signals during treatment. The assistant sets up the instrument tray and checks the suction system. Use only the essential words: “suction”, “mirror”, “next instrument”. Give brief feedback immediately afterwards: what went well and what could be done more quickly? Report delays straight to reception so the next patient can be notified.

After each patient: used instruments go into the disinfecting tub. Then they are cleaned, dried and placed in a pouch. The items then go into the autoclave. Clinical waste is disposed of separately. Clean the dental chair and the workspace and note in the patient file whether a message is needed (for example, instructions about aftercare or a new appointment).
