Onderwerp: Eerste afspraak Sam (5) - morgen 15:30
Hallo dokter Van Dijk,
Groet,
Fatima – balie
Subject: Sam’s first appointment (5) - tomorrow 15:30
Hello Dr. Van Dijk,
tomorrow Sam (5) is coming for his first visit. His mother says he gets scared quickly in the dentist’s chair. Could you briefly indicate how you want to reassure him? Then I can also already explain it to his mother.Mother also asks:
- Are you going to “drill”?
- Can you first only look and count?
- Do you do anything with fluoride varnish if everything looks good?
Kind regards,
Fatima – front desk
Useful phrases:
-
(Thanks for your message. Tomorrow I want to first only look and say that…)
-
(If Sam is scared, he may take a break: he can raise his hand and then…)
-
(If everything looks good, we can apply fluoride varnish at the end.)
Groet,
dr. Van Dijk
Hello Fatima,
Thanks for your message. Tomorrow I will first let Sam get used to things calmly. I will start by only looking in his mouth, counting teeth, and explaining what I’m doing in simple words. If Sam is scared, he can raise his hand and then we’ll stop for a moment. I sometimes use air and water; that only feels tickly.
We are not going to drill right away. If everything looks good, I will apply fluoride varnish at the end. Could you ask mother whether Sam has had pain before or bad experiences at the dentist?
Kind regards,
Dr. Van Dijk
