Tandarts Van Dijk: Show Zo, de extractie is klaar. Ik heb een hemostatisch sponsje in de wond gedaan en hier zijn steriele gaasjes; bijt er 30 minuten stevig op.

Gisteren heeft de tandarts mijn verstandskies getrokken. Thuis heb ik nog wat bloed in mijn speeksel. Ik heb 30 minuten op een gaasje gebeten, maar daarna begon het weer. Is dat normaal?
Ook doet mijn wang pijn en is hij wat dik. Mag ik al spoelen? En wanneer mag ik weer sporten?

Dear Mr El Amrani,<br><br>Thank you for your message. A little blood in the saliva in the first 24 hours can be normal. If it starts bleeding again, place a clean <strong>gauze pad</strong> on the wound and bite down firmly on it for 30 minutes. Do not keep checking the wound. If after changing the gauze twice it is still bleeding heavily, please contact our practice.<br><br>For the swelling and pain: cool your cheek for 10 minutes, then take a 10-minute break, repeat this a few times. Rinsing is usually allowed after 24 hours, but preferably not today. Eat soft foods and do not smoke. You can use paracetamol according to the package leaflet.
