(Hello Mr Leroy, tell me exactly where it hurts: upper or lower, right or left?)

(Lower left, especially when I chew; I think it’s a molar.)

Dentiste (Dr Martin): Show Très bien.

(Very good. I’m going to look at the crown — sometimes the pits and fissures are sensitive and the enamel can be damaged.)

Merci,
Dr Léa Girard

Hello,

I’m handing you the 10:30 patient, Mr. Martin. He says he has pain from cold on the molar in the upper right. On the chart, I noted tooth 16 (quadrant 1). Can you check whether it’s indeed 16 and see if there is an area where the root is a little exposed? He complains mainly when he drinks cold water.

Thank you,
Dr Léa Girard

  2. Sur la fiche, je note : dent … (quadrant …).

(On the chart, I note: tooth … (quadrant …).)

(Could you tell me if the patient also has…?)

Bonjour Dr Girard,

Cordialement,
[Votre prénom]

Hello Dr Girard,

Thank you for the information. I confirm that the tooth in the upper right corresponds to quadrant 1. I will check with the patient whether it is indeed tooth 16 (molar) and examine the area at the root level, especially near the cervical area.

I suggest doing a cold test and checking for the presence of gingival recession. Has Mr. Martin already had a treatment or sensitivity on this tooth before today?

Kind regards,
[Your first name]
