Exercise 1: Match a word

Instruction: Match each beginning with its correct ending.

Quel quadrato sul disegno è troppo piccolo per l'ufficio. (That square in the drawing is too small for the office.)

Nel centro di Bari c'è un nuovo negozio di design per la casa. Nelle vetrine ci sono lampade con base a , tavoli e mensole . Un grande poster mostra il nuovo logo del negozio: un bianco dentro un blu.

Il volantino dice: “Preferisci uno stile moderno o classico? Guarda tavolo rotondo: è grande ma . E tavolo quadrato è piccolo, ma molto stabile. mensole sono lunghe e , perfette per i corridoi. Se non conosci bene le misure, il nostro personale ti aiuta a lo spazio in casa.”
In the center of Bari there is a new home design store. In the shop windows there are lamps with a triangular base, round tables, and rectangular shelves. A large poster shows the store’s new logo: a white circle inside a blue square.

The flyer says: “Do you prefer a modern or classic style? Look at this round table: it’s big but light. And that square table is small, but very stable. These shelves are long and narrow, perfect for hallways. If you don’t know the measurements well, our staff will help you measure the space at home.”

There are two models:

  • This one: rectangular, big and a bit wide.
  • That one: round (a circle), smaller and light.

Which one do you prefer? My entryway is quite narrow. Thanks!

Ciao Sara! Io preferisco quello rotondo: è più piccolo e leggero, quindi per un ingresso stretto va meglio. Però se vuoi uno specchio grande, quello rettangolare è una buona scelta. Fammi sapere cosa prendi!
Hi Sara! I prefer the round one: it’s smaller and lighter, so it works better for a narrow entryway. But if you want a big mirror, the rectangular one is a good choice. Let me know what you get!
