Come si prepara la tavola per una cena informale secondo il galateo? (How do you prepare the table for an informal dinner according to etiquette?)
Per una cena informale basta mettere un piatto piano. (For an informal dinner, it’s enough to put down a flat plate.)
Se il menù ha un primo e un secondo, mettiamo prima le posate per il secondo piatto. (If the menu has a first course and a second course, we first put down the cutlery for the second course.)
La forchetta va a sinistra e il coltello a destra. (The fork goes on the left and the knife on the right.)
Se il primo è una zuppa, mettiamo il piatto fondo sopra il piatto piano e il cucchiaio a destra. (If the first course is a soup, we put the soup plate on top of the flat plate and the spoon on the right.)
Il tovagliolo va messo a sinistra; può essere piegato a triangolo o a libro, entrambi vanno bene. (The napkin should be placed on the left; it can be folded into a triangle or like a book—both are fine.)
Se c'è un piattino per il pane, lo mettiamo in alto a sinistra, sopra le forchette. (If there is a bread plate, we put it at the top left, above the forks.)
I bicchieri si mettono in alto a destra, allineati alla punta del coltello. (The glasses are placed at the top right, aligned with the tip of the knife.)
I calici per il vino vanno dietro al bicchiere, a destra. (The wine glasses go behind the water glass, on the right.)
Ora siete pronti per ospitare i vostri amici a cena! (Now you are ready to host your friends for dinner!)

2. Barbara: Grazie, amore. Non vedo l'ora di festeggiare insieme stasera. (Thank you, love. I can't wait to celebrate together tonight.)
3. Antonio: Allora iniziamo a preparare la tavola. Tu prendi la tovaglia, io metto i piatti e le posate. (Then let's start setting the table. You take the tablecloth, I'll put out the plates and cutlery.)
4. Barbara: Ok. Prendo anche il vino? (Ok. Should I get the wine too?)
5. Antonio: Sì, il vino bianco è in frigo. (Yes, the white wine is in the fridge.)
