Exercise 1: Match a word

Instruction: Match each beginning with its correct ending.

Il mio capo è alto e magro. (My boss is tall and thin.)
La nuova collega è bionda e carina. (The new colleague is blonde and cute.)
Il professore di italiano è basso ma simpatico. (The Italian teacher is short but nice.)

Instruction: Read the text, fill in the gaps with the missing words, and answer the questions below

Avviso in bacheca dell'ufficio

Nella bacheca dell'ufficio c'è un avviso: “Cerchiamo una persona per un progetto fotografico. La persona ideale è e , con capelli lunghi e . Può essere anche un uomo, l'importante è avere un aspetto curato e un sorriso . L'età non è importante. Nota: la persona non deve essere timida davanti alla macchina fotografica”.

Sotto l'avviso c'è una piccola descrizione del team: “Nel nostro gruppo c'è già Laura, una ragazza , con capelli corti e , molto . C'è anche Marco, un ragazzo , con capelli e lunghi. Cerchiamo qualcuno con un aspetto diverso, non a Laura o a Marco. Se ti riconosci in questa descrizione, scrivi a risorse.umane@azienda.it”
On the office bulletin board there is a notice: “We are looking for a person for a photography project. The ideal person is tall and slim, with long blond hair. It can also be a man; the important thing is to have a well-groomed appearance and a nice smile. Age is not important. Note: the person must not be shy in front of the camera”.

Under the notice there is a short description of the team: “In our group there is already Laura, a short girl with short brown hair, very pretty. There is also Marco, a dark-haired guy with wavy long hair. We are looking for someone with a different appearance, not the same as Laura or Marco. If you see yourself in this description, write to risorse.umane@azienda.it”

1. Alla reception dell’ufficio la receptionist non conosce il tuo collega Luca. Devi descriverlo per aiutarla a riconoscerlo. (Usa: alto, magro, i capelli, moro)

(At the office reception desk, the receptionist doesn’t know your colleague Luca. You have to describe him to help her recognize him. (Use: tall, slim, hair, dark-haired))

Example:

2. Sei in un bar con un’amica italiana. Lei non conosce tuo marito/tua moglie e ti chiede: “Com’è fisicamente?”. Descrivi la persona. (Usa: basso, carino, gli occhi, i capelli)

(You are in a bar with an Italian friend. She doesn’t know your husband/wife and asks you: “What do they look like physically?”. Describe the person. (Use: short, good-looking, eyes, hair))
