What is multimodality?

Che cos'è la multimodalità?

Lo sapevi che il Nord Italia è una delle zone più inquinate d'Europa? Questo è un video per incentivare l'uso dei mezzi di trasporto pubblico e ridurre l'inquinamento.
Did you know that Northern Italy is one of the most polluted areas in Europe? This is a video to encourage the use of public transport and reduce pollution.

Fortunatamente oggi esiste una nuova soluzione: la multimodalità. (Fortunately, today there is a new solution: multimodality.)
Non usiamo più solo l'auto per spostarci, ma anche vari mezzi di trasporto. (We no longer use only the car to get around, but also various means of transportation.)
Prima di tutto usiamo le gambe, poi la bici, l'autobus, il tram, la metropolitana o il treno. (First of all we use our legs, then the bike, the bus, the tram, the subway, or the train.)
Così l'aria diventa più pulita, la circolazione più fluida e le città più belle. (This way the air becomes cleaner, traffic flows more smoothly, and cities become more beautiful.)
Con la multimodalità si migliora la condizione fisica e si spendono meno soldi in benzina. (With multimodality, physical condition improves and less money is spent on gasoline.)
I soldi che risparmiamo li possiamo usare per le cose che ci piacciono di più. (The money we save can be used for the things we like most.)
Essere multimodale è una scelta buona e responsabile. (Being multimodal is a good and responsible choice.)

Tommaso arriva in ritardo e Marta gli propone i mezzi

Tommaso arrives late and Marta suggests public transport
1. Tommaso: Scusami per il ritardo. Stamattina sono rimasto bloccato nel traffico. (Sorry for being late. This morning I got stuck in traffic.)
2. Marta: Tranquillo. Ma come mai non prendi i mezzi? Nelle ore di punta arrivi più sicuro e spesso anche prima. (No worries. But why don't you take public transport? During rush hour you get there more reliably and often even earlier.)
3. Tommaso: Hai ragione. Potrei prendere l'autobus: oggi in macchina ho perso davvero tanto tempo. (You're right. I could take the bus: today by car I really wasted a lot of time.)
4. Marta: Io prendo il tram: da casa mia è la soluzione più veloce. (I take the tram: from my house it's the fastest solution.)
5. Tommaso: Posso andare a piedi o in bici fino alla fermata e poi prendere i mezzi. (I can walk or bike to the stop and then take public transport.)
6. Marta: Certo, e poi decidi se ti è più comodo il tram, l'autobus o la metropolitana. (Sure, and then you decide whether the tram, the bus, or the subway is more convenient for you.)
7. Tommaso: Magari faccio un abbonamento mensile. Sai come funziona? (Maybe I'll get a monthly pass. Do you know how it works?)
8. Marta: Io pago 35 euro al mese. Include metro, tram e autobus, ma non gli extraurbani. Quindi ti puoi muovere solo in città. (I pay 35 euros a month. It includes the subway, tram, and bus, but not the suburban lines. So you can only get around within the city.)
9. Tommaso: Va bene, grazie! Allora domani passo alla stazione vicino a casa per chiedere informazioni. (All right, thanks! Then tomorrow I'll stop by the station near my house to ask for information.)
