Die beliebteste Blume in Deutschland ist die Tulpe. Sie ist in vielen Gärten und auch auf Märkten sehr verbreitet und symbolisiert Fröhlichkeit und den Beginn des Frühlings. Die Lieblingsblume des Gärtners im Video ist die Westerlandrose.
The most popular flower in Germany is the tulip. It is very common in many gardens and also in markets and symbolises cheerfulness and the beginning of spring. The gardener’s favourite flower in the video is the Westerland rose.

Heute stelle ich euch meine Lieblingsrose vor: die Westerlandrose. (Today I’m introducing you to my favorite rose: the Westerland rose.)

Ich bin Landschaftsgärtner und wir haben diese Rose sehr oft verwendet, weil sie robust und wetterfest ist. (I am a landscape gardener and we have used this rose very often because it is robust and weather-resistant.)
Es regnet schon seit Tagen, aber die Blüten gehen im Regen nicht kaputt. (It has been raining for days, but the blossoms don’t get damaged in the rain.)
Die Blüten sind außerdem insektenfreundlich, da sie nur halb gefüllt sind. (The blossoms are also insect-friendly because they are only semi-double.)
An dieser Rose sehe ich immer verschiedene Käfer, Hummeln und Bienen. (On this rose I always see various beetles, bumblebees, and bees.)

Sabrina and Christian are planning the new garden for their house
1. Christian: Was meinst du? Wo fangen wir an? (What do you think? Where do we start?)
2. Sabrina: Die Samen für das Gras habe ich schon gekauft. Ein großer Rasen ist mir am wichtigsten. (I've already bought the seeds for the grass. A big lawn is the most important thing to me.)
3. Christian: Okay. Meine Lieblingsblumen sind Tulpen. Pflanzen wir hinten Tulpen? (Okay. My favorite flowers are tulips. Shall we plant tulips in the back?)
4. Sabrina: Das hört sich sehr gut an. Tulpen muss man nicht so oft gießen. (That sounds really good. You don't have to water tulips that often.)
5. Christian: Du hast Recht. Wir haben also Tulpen. Ich finde, Rosen müssen wir aber auf jeden Fall auch noch pflanzen! (You're right. So we have tulips. But I think we definitely have to plant roses too!)
6. Sabrina: Welche Rose willst du pflanzen? (Which rose do you want to plant?)
7. Christian: Die Westerlandrose. Die Farbe gefällt mir besonders gut. (The Westerland rose. I especially like the color.)
8. Sabrina: Die brauchen aber viel Pflege. (But they need a lot of care.)
9. Christian: Das ist kein Problem. Gießen macht mir Spaß. (That's not a problem. I enjoy watering.)
