Exercise 2: Dialogue

Instruction: Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

Bernd und Tanja sind umgezogen und überlegen jetzt wie sie ihre Wohnung so umgestalten, dass es heller und einladender aussieht...

Bernd and Tanja have moved house and are now thinking about how to redesign their flat to make it brighter and more inviting...
1. Bernd: Lass uns mit dem Schrank anfangen. (Let's start with the cabinet.)
2. Tanja: Was ist mit dem Schrank? (What's wrong with the cabinet?)
3. Bernd: Der schwarze Schrank steht zwischen dem schwarzen Sofa und dem dunkelgrauen Sessel. Es ist zu dunkel. (The black cabinet stands between the black sofa and the dark gray armchair. It’s too dark.)
4. Tanja: Das stimmt. Sollen wir den Schrank in den Flur stellen? Dort ist mehr Licht. (That's true. Should we move the cabinet to the hallway? There's more light there.)
5. Bernd: Das ist eine gute Idee. Der Flur hat ein Fenster zur Südseite und ist sehr hell. (That's a good idea. The hallway has a south-facing window and is very bright.)
6. Tanja: Aber der Teppich im Wohnzimmer gefällt mir nicht. Die blaue Farbe passt nicht zu den Möbeln. (But I don't like the carpet in the living room. The blue color doesn't match the furniture.)
7. Bernd: Ich finde, wir können den Teppich weggeben. Er ist schon fast kaputt. (I think we can get rid of the carpet. It's almost worn out.)
8. Tanja: Gut, dass wir uns da einig sind. Jetzt zum Schreibtisch. (Good that we agree on that. Now, about the desk.)
9. Bernd: Was ist mit meinem Schreibtisch? (What about my desk?)
10. Tanja: Er steht im Schlafzimmer, aber ich möchte nicht, dass im Schlafzimmer gearbeitet wird. (It's in the bedroom, but I don't want anybody working in the bedroom.)
11. Bernd: Dann stellen wir den Schreibtisch ins Wohnzimmer. (Then we'll put the desk in the living room.)
