Wohnen in Deutschland wird immer teurer. In Berlin zum Beispiel stieg der Preis pro Quadratmeter von etwa 8 Euro auf über 16 Euro von 2014 bis 2023. Das Video zeigt einen jungen Mann, der in Köln eine Wohnung sucht.
Living in Germany is becoming increasingly expensive. In Berlin, for example, the price per square metre rose from about 8 euros to over 16 euros from 2014 to 2023. The video shows a young man looking for a flat in Cologne.

Weil sein Mitbewohner die Stadt verlässt, sucht Sergün eine neue Wohnung. (Because his roommate is leaving the city, Sergün is looking for a new apartment.)
Er möchte eine Wohnung mit zwei Zimmern im Stadtzentrum und die Miete soll bis 750 Euro sein. (He wants a two-room apartment in the city center, and the rent should be up to €750.)
Er hat sich mehr als 100 Wohnungen beworben, aber noch keine Zusage bekommen. (He has applied for more than 100 apartments but hasn't received an offer yet.)
Manchmal hat er auch Wohnungen angeschrieben, bei denen er selbst nicht sicher war, ob er sie will. (Sometimes he even contacted apartments he wasn't sure he wanted.)
Auf die meisten Bewerbungen hat er keine Antwort erhalten. (He received no response to most of his applications.)
Heute hat er endlich eine Wohnungsbesichtigung, aber es ist nur ein Zimmer statt zwei. (Today he finally has an apartment viewing, but it's for one room instead of two.)
Die Miete mit Nebenkosten beträgt 630 Euro. Strom muss er noch extra bezahlen. (The rent including utilities is €630. He still has to pay for electricity separately.)
