Als nächstes kommt der Suppenlöffel auf die rechte Seite. (Next, place the soup spoon on the right.)
Links vom Teller liegt die Gabel für den Hauptgang. (To the left of the plate is the fork for the main course.)
Daneben legst du die Gabel für die Vorspeise. (Beside it, place the fork for the starter.)
Der Dessertlöffel liegt oben über dem Teller. (The dessert spoon goes above the plate.)
Rechts oben stellst du ein Weißweinglas oder ein Rotweinglas hin. (In the top right, set a white wine glass or a red wine glass.)
Zum Schluss stellst du das Wasserglas dazu. (Finally, add the water glass.)

Setting the table for guests
1. Fabian: Hilfst du mir, den Tisch zu decken? (Can you help me set the table?)
2. Sabrina: Klar. Wie viele Gäste sind es denn nochmal? (Sure. How many guests did you say there would be again?)
3. Fabian: Mit uns beiden sind wir zwölf. Kannst du noch zwei Stühle holen? Hier stehen nur zehn. (Counting the two of us, there are twelve. Can you fetch two more chairs? There are only ten here.)
4. Sabrina: Mache ich sofort. Aber haben wir überhaupt so viele Gläser? (I'll get them right away. But do we even have that many glasses?)
5. Fabian: Gläser sind, glaube ich, nicht das Problem. Ich bin mir aber unsicher, ob wir genug Löffel haben. (Glasses shouldn't be a problem, I think. I'm just not sure we have enough spoons.)
