Esta semana el tiempo está tranquilo en casi toda España. (This week the weather is calm across almost all of Spain.)

En el norte, en la zona del Cantábrico, el cielo está muy nublado. (In the north, along the Cantabrian coast, the sky is very cloudy.)
Por la tarde, hay tormentas en Navarra, Zaragoza y los Pirineos. (In the afternoon there will be storms in Navarra, Zaragoza and the Pyrenees.)
En las Islas Canarias hace calima. (In the Canary Islands there is calima (haze).)
La temperatura baja un poco, pero sigue haciendo mucho calor. (Temperatures drop slightly, but it will still be very hot.)
En algunas zonas de Canarias hay 40 grados. (Some parts of the Canary Islands will reach 40 degrees.)
En Granada, hay 39 grados. (Granada will see 39 degrees.)

Exercise 2: Dialogue

Instruction: Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

David está en Barcelona y Lucía en Bilbao. Los dos hablan del tiempo en las dos ciudades españolas.

David is in Barcelona and Lucía is in Bilbao. Both of them talk about the weather in the two Spanish cities.
1. David: Hola, cariño, ¿cómo estás? ¿Ya estás en el hotel? (Hello, dear, how are you? Are you at the hotel already?)
2. Lucía: Sí, me preparo para la reunión. ¿Y tú, qué haces? (Yes, I’m getting ready for the meeting. And you, what are you doing?)
3. David: Estoy en el coche, regreso del gimnasio. ¿Qué tiempo hace en Bilbao? (I’m in the car, coming back from the gym. What’s the weather like in Bilbao?)
4. Lucía: Hace mucho frío y está lloviendo. (It’s very cold and it’s raining.)
5. David: ¡Vaya! Igual cambiará. (Wow! Maybe it will change.)
6. Lucía: Ojalá… Tengo que ver el tiempo para mañana. ¿Y en Barcelona, qué tiempo hace ahora? (I hope so… I need to check the weather for tomorrow. And in Barcelona, what’s the weather like now?)
7. David: Aquí hace sol como siempre, pero hoy hace más frío que ayer. (Here it’s sunny as always, but today it’s colder than yesterday.)
8. Lucía: Bueno, es normal, estamos en noviembre. (Well, that’s normal, it’s November.)
9. David: ¿Entonces prefieres el clima de Cataluña o del País Vasco? (So, do you prefer the weather in Catalonia or the Basque Country?)
10. Lucía: Claro, ¡prefiero Barcelona! (Of course, I prefer Barcelona!)
11. David: Lucía, estoy entrando en un túnel, te llamo después de la reunión. ¡Hasta luego! (Lucía, I’m entering a tunnel, I’ll call you after the meeting. See you later!)
