La s’appuie sur une simple et efficace : un figurant perturbe le d’une muette et contraint le à revoir l’arc narratif en direct. L’acte I installe les enjeux en coulisse, l’acte II accélère avec des répliques courtes et un monologue inattendu.

En sortant, on se demande comment une erreur de plateau peut devenir, finalement, le cœur du spectacle.In its new staging, the Théâtre des Ateliers presents « Action! », a contemporary comedy that follows a film crew in the midst of chaos. The dramaturgy is based on a simple and effective plot: an extra disrupts the course of a silent scene and forces the director to revise the narrative arc live. Act I sets up the stakes backstage; Act II speeds up with short lines and an unexpected monologue.
What stands out above all is the performance of the lead actress, who portrayed an assistant director who is both rigid and moving. The staging highlights the supporting character, often reduced to a comic role, and subtly questions the place of editing in the audience’s perception. On leaving, one wonders how an on-set mistake can ultimately become the heart of the show.

Débrief après la première
Camille (collègue): Show Alors, tu en as pensé quoi ? Moi, j’ai trouvé la trame claire, mais le deuxième acte traînait un peu — on sentait moins l’arc narratif du personnage principal.
(So, what did you think? I found the plot clear, but the second act dragged a bit — you could feel the main character’s narrative arc less.)
Nicolas (vous): Show Oui, surtout au milieu : la scène de confrontation aurait dû être plus tendue, la dramaturgie retombait et certaines répliques passaient presque inaperçues.
(Yes, especially in the middle: the confrontation scene should have been more tense, the drama fell flat and some lines went almost unnoticed.)
Camille (collègue): Show Par contre, la mise en scène était réussie : le metteur en scène a vraiment mis en valeur les coulisses ouvertes, ça donnait une impression de « théâtre dans le théâtre ».
(On the other hand, the staging was successful: the director really highlighted the open backstage area, it gave an impression of “theatre within the theatre”.)
Nicolas (vous): Show Je suis d’accord, et le personnage secondaire — la sœur — apportait du rythme, mais l’actrice n’a pas toujours su l’incarner, surtout dans le monologue final.
(I agree, and the secondary character — the sister — brought rhythm, but the actress didn’t always manage to embody her, especially in the final monologue.)
Camille (collègue): Show Oui, l’interprétation manquait de nuances… Cela dit, la dernière scène rattrape le tout : le déroulement devient plus fluide et on comprend enfin l’intention du metteur en scène.
(Yes, the performance lacked nuance… That said, the last scene makes up for it all: the progression becomes smoother and you finally understand the director’s intention.)

Merci pour le message — la générale était très instructive. Globalement la trame et l'arc narratif me semblent clairs, mais au début de l'acte 2 je me suis demandé si le changement de ton n'arrivait pas trop tôt. Pour moi, ça décroche juste après l'entrée du personnage secondaire qui apporte une explication longue : la scène perd un peu de tension.
Côté jeu, Nora tient bien son monologue — diction précise et montée en émotion progressive, ce qui met sa performance en valeur. Les répliques de Karim sont justes, toutefois il gagnerait à marquer un ou deux silences pour laisser respirer la scène.

Thanks for the message — the dress rehearsal was very instructive. Overall the plotline and the narrative arc seem clear to me, but at the beginning of Act 2 I wondered whether the change in tone doesn’t come too early. For me, it loses momentum right after the entrance of the secondary character who delivers a long explanation: the scene loses a bit of tension.
As for the acting, Nora carries her monologue well — precise diction and a gradual build in emotion, which really showcases her performance. Karim’s lines are on point; however, he would benefit from marking one or two pauses to let the scene breathe.
