Wyrażanie opinii i (nie)zgadzanie

We use these expressions to better organize a conversation.

What these phrases do (in real conversation)

Wyrażasz opinię = you introduce your view (so it sounds polite and structured).
Zgadzasz się = you confirm the other person’s view (often to move the discussion forward).
Nie zgadzasz się = you disagree (you can be direct, but still professional).

Opinion phrases: the key pattern you need

Most “opinion starters” are followed by a full sentence. Very often Polish uses że (= “that”).

Tip: Z mojego punktu widzenia usually connects directly to the statement (like “From my point of view, this offer is good…”).
Common mistake: don’t add że after Z mojego punktu widzenia.
- ~~Z mojego punktu widzenia, że ta oferta jest dobra.~~
- Z mojego punktu widzenia ta oferta jest dobra.

Agreement: how to sound natural (not over-formal)

Masz rację. = “You’re right.”
- Often followed by a dash/comma + your reason: Masz rację — to jest pilne.
- About a man/woman: Ma rację. (He/She is right.)
Ja też tak myślę. = “I think so too.” (friendly-neutral)
Podzielam twoją opinię. = “I share your opinion.” (more formal; good in meetings)

Disagreement: the one grammar point to remember

The verb phrase is fixed: zgadzać się z + Instrumental (“to agree with”).

Structure	Example
Zgadzam się z tobą.	I agree with you.
Nie zgadzam się z tobą.	I don’t agree with you.
Nie zgadzam się z tym.	I don’t agree with that.

Most common error: using the wrong preposition.
- ~~Nie zgadzam się na tobą.~~
- Nie zgadzam się z tobą.
Professional softeners (still clear, less confrontational):
- Mam inne zdanie na ten temat. = “I have a different opinion on this.”
- Widzę to inaczej. = “I see it differently.”

Mini “word order” guide: where to put the key message

Put the starter first, then your main point.
Keep your main point as a full sentence (subject + verb), especially after że.

Z mojego punktu widzenia…	lepiej zacząć od wersji pilotażowej.

Self-check: do you use the right phrase?

Do I want to introduce my view? → choose Chcę powiedzieć, że… / Jestem zdania, że… / Z mojego punktu widzenia…
Do I want to agree? → Masz rację / Ja też tak myślę / Podzielam twoją opinię
Do I want to disagree? → Nie zgadzam się z… (+ optional: Mam inne zdanie… / Widzę to inaczej.)
After zgadzać się, did I use z + tobą/tym/nim/nią (not na, not za)?

Instruction: Rewrite each sentence using the given beginning in brackets so as to express an opinion, agreement or disagreement – one correct sentence for each instruction.
