What these phrases do (your “conversation toolkit”)

These expressions help you do three common things in Polish discussions:

• State an opinion (soft or firm)
• Agree (politely or strongly)
• Disagree (directly or diplomatically)

Core pattern: phrase + “że” + full sentence

Many opinion/argument phrases are followed by że (“that”) and then a normal sentence.

• Wydaje mi się, że to dobry pomysł.
• Jestem zdania, że ten kurs jest przydatny.
• Trzeba też wziąć pod uwagę, że mamy mało czasu.

Common pitfall: don’t drop że in these patterns.

• Wydaje mi się to dobry pomysł. → Wydaje mi się, że to dobry pomysł.

Word order you should not “overthink”

In Polish, word order is flexible. These phrases let you keep it simple:

1. Start with the expression.
2. Add że (if the expression needs it).
3. Continue with a normal sentence.

Example (meeting context):

• Wydaje mi się, że powinniśmy zacząć spotkanie o 9:00.

Agreement: when you need “z + instrumental”

The key structure is:

• Zgadzać się z + someone (instrumental case)

Note: Masz rację is the easiest agreement phrase because it doesn’t need any case endings.

• Masz rację. (You’re right.)
• Dokładnie tak. (Exactly.)

Disagreement: direct vs diplomatic

1. Did you choose the right tone (soft / firm / diplomatic)?
