W razie wypadku lub bezpośredniego zagrożenia dzwoń na numer alarmowy 112.If during your trip you lost your passport or wallet or it was stolen from you, first report it to the police. At the police station you can file a report about theft or loss. Describe when and where it happened, provide contact details, and ask for confirmation of the report — it will be useful at the bank and with the insurer.
When you have no documents, contact the nearest embassy or consulate. At the office you can obtain a duplicate or a temporary passport if you have other proof of identity. In the event of an accident or immediate danger, call the emergency number 112.

Policjantka: Show Dzień dobry, posterunek policji. W czym mogę pomóc?

Turysta: Show Dzień dobry. Miałem kradzież — ktoś ukradł mi portfel w tramwaju i mam problem, bo były tam dokumenty.
(Good morning. I had a theft — someone stole my wallet on the tram and I have a problem because there were documents in it.)
Policjantka: Show Rozumiem. Zgłasza pan kradzież na policji. Proszę powiedzieć: kiedy to było i którym tramwajem pan jechał?
(I understand. You are reporting a theft to the police. Please tell me: when was it and which tram were you on?)
Turysta: Show Dziś około 9:00, tramwaj numer 17. W portfelu miałem dowód i kartę, teraz jestem poszkodowany i nie mam jak zapłacić.

Hi Marta! I’m sorry to hear that. First, go to the nearest police station and file a theft report. Take your hotel booking confirmation or a photo of your document with you, if you have one. Ask for a paper confirmation of the report – it will be useful at the bank and in offices.
Then call or write to the embassy/consulate of your country and ask about a duplicate document or an emergency passport. If you’re in danger right now, call 112 immediately. Also tell me which district you’re in and I’ll help you find the nearest police station.
