Conditional sentences
Get your bookWe use conditional sentences to say what would happen if something were different, e.g. if we had more money, time, or luck.
- Gdyby + past tense + the personal ending -by forms a conditional sentence.
- The ending -by changes depending on the person: gdybym, gdybyś, gdyby, gdybyśmy, gdybyście, gdyby.

Exceptions!
- Słowo to is optional, e.g. Gdybym miał czas, (to) odpocząłbym.

Instruction: Transform the sentences into conditional sentences using “gdyby” and the appropriate -by endings (gdybym/gdybyś/gdyby/gdybyśmy/gdybyście/gdyby). You may add “to” only when it fits. Example: Mam czas. Odpocznę. → Gdybym miał czas, odpocząłbym.
