We use these expressions to organise arguments.

What these connectors do (and when to use them)

Wprowadzanie argumentów = you start your list of points (structured speaking/writing).
Dodawanie argumentów = you add another point (same direction).
Wnioski = you finish: summary or consequence.

Think: start → add → conclude. These phrases make your Polish sound clear and professional.

Placement and punctuation: the most common mistakes

Most connectors are used like sentence adverbs: at the beginning of the sentence + comma.
If the connector is inside the sentence, you usually still use commas, but at A2 keep it simple: put it first.

Correct (natural)	Common wrong versions
Po pierwsze, musimy ustalić budżet.	~~Po pierwsze musimy…~~ (missing comma in writing)
Co więcej, to oszczędza czas.	~~Co wiece,~~ (spelling) / ~~Co więcej~~ (missing comma)
Ponadto potrzebujemy umowy. (comma optional)	~~Ponad to,~~ (different meaning) / ~~Ponadto,~~ (often overused)

Key detail: Ponadto often appears without a comma. Using a comma is not always wrong, but it’s not necessary in many short sentences.

“Po pierwsze / po drugie / po trzecie” — how to build a clear argument list

Use these when you want a numbered structure.
They work best as a set: Po pierwsze… Po drugie… Po trzecie…

Example:

Po pierwsze, chcę policzyć koszty.
Po drugie, muszę wybrać formę działalności.
Po trzecie, potrzebuję pierwszych klientów.

Self-check: Can your listener easily answer: “What is point 1, 2, 3?” If yes, you used it well.

“Na początek / Na początku” — what is the difference?

Connector	Best use	Example
Na początek…	“As a first step” (plan, procedure)	Na początek załóżmy konto w systemie.
Na początku…	“At the beginning” (time, start of meeting/process)	Na początku spotkania przedstawimy cele.

Tip: If you can replace it with “at the start of the meeting/day/project”, choose na początku.

Adding more points: “Co więcej / Ponadto / Dodatkowo / Następnie”

Co więcej = moreover; often adds something a bit stronger / extra important.
Ponadto / Dodatkowo = in addition; neutral extra info.
Następnie = then/next; focuses on sequence, not “another argument”.

Mini-examples (business context):

Ponadto musimy podpisać umowę z dostawcą.
Co więcej, możemy to wdrożyć bez dodatkowych kosztów.
Następnie wysyłamy ofertę do klienta.

Balanced comparison: “Z jednej strony…, z drugiej strony…”

Use it when you present two sides (pros/cons, two perspectives).
Keep the structure parallel: one side + the other side.

Example:

Z jednej strony praca zdalna oszczędza czas na dojazdy, a z drugiej strony trudniej oddzielić pracę od domu.

Common mistake: starting with Z jednej strony and never adding the second side.

Conclusions: “Podsumowując / Na koniec / Ostatecznie”

Podsumowując, = to sum up; you recap the main points.
Na koniec, = at the end; last item/step.
Ostatecznie, = ultimately; final decision/result after thinking.

Example:

Podsumowując, wybieramy tańszą opcję i startujemy w październiku.
Na koniec, ustalmy terminy i odpowiedzialności.
Ostatecznie, zdecydowaliśmy się na współpracę z nowym partnerem.

Result vs. summary: “W rezultacie” and “W związku z tym”

W związku z tym,	therefore / because of that (logical consequence)	W związku z tym, musimy zmienić harmonogram.

Self-check: Are you giving a conclusion (summary) or an effect (result)? Choose the connector accordingly.

Fast checklist before you speak or write

Am I starting, adding, or concluding? Pick the connector group.
Do I need order (next step) or another argument? (następnie vs ponadto).
Put the connector first and add a comma (safe A2 rule).
Keep it consistent: if you use z jednej strony, add z drugiej strony.
