These expressions help you confirm someone’s opinion, analysis, or proposal in a professional conversation.

Quick agreement: Pues sí, Sin duda.
Agreement with a viewpoint: Estoy de acuerdo, Lo veo igual, Comparto tu opinión.
Strong agreement: Totalmente de acuerdo, Tienes toda la razón.
Partial agreement: En líneas generales estoy de acuerdo (…but with a nuance).

Also vs. neither: también and tampoco

This is the most common “trap”: Spanish chooses the word based on whether the previous sentence is affirmative or negative.

Self-check: Is the previous sentence negative (has no, nunca, nadie, etc.)? If yes → choose tampoco.

Pattern you can reuse: “To me too / neither”

Very productive structure:

A mí también / A mí tampoco + me + (verb)

Common mistake: don’t mix the polarity.

- No han sido transparentes. - ~~Yo también~~ → Yo tampoco.

“Estoy de acuerdo con…” vs. “Estoy de acuerdo en…”

Choose the preposition based on what follows.

In business Spanish, “con + tu propuesta/tu análisis” is the safest default.

Register and strength: pick the right level of agreement

Tip: No hay duda de que… is about the statement, not about agreeing with a person.

Useful question forms to invite agreement

To keep conversation flowing, ask for alignment explicitly.

¿Estás de acuerdo con…? (with a proposal/person)
¿Estás de acuerdo en…? (on this point/topic)
¿Lo ves como yo? (more informal, still professional)
¿No te parece que…? / ¿No crees que…? (invites agreement; can sound leading)

Final self-check (10 seconds before you answer)

Polarity: Is the previous sentence negative? → use tampoco, not también.
Target: Am I agreeing with a proposal/person → con; with a point/topic → en.
Intensity: Neutral, strong, or partial? Choose the phrase that matches your intention.

También ⇒ agreement after an affirmative statement; Tampoco ⇒ agreement after a negative statement.
También / Tampoco can be used with: lo creo, lo veo, opino que, me parece, me resulta.
To ask for agreement or an opinion, questions are used such as: ¿Estás de acuerdo con / en...?, ¿Lo ves como yo?, ¿No te parece que...?, ¿No crees que...?
