El Instituto Nacional de Estadística publica un avance sobre tendencias territoriales: la crece en la franja costera y en las grandes áreas metropolitanas, mientras varias provincias del interior pierden habitantes. La se concentra en zonas urbanas; allí el alquiler sube y los servicios se saturan, aunque la oferta de empleo es mayor. En las comarcas envejecidas se cierran aulas y falta personal sanitario.

Los autores advierten que, sin políticas de vivienda y transporte, muchas familias se habrían antes en ciudades medias; otras habrían emigrado menos si hubieran encontrado contratos estables y asequibles cerca.The National Statistics Institute publishes an update on territorial trends: population density is growing along the coastal strip and in the major metropolitan areas, while several inland provinces are losing inhabitants. The working population is concentrating in urban areas; there, rents are rising and services are becoming overloaded, although job availability is higher. In ageing districts, classrooms are closing and there is a shortage of healthcare staff.
The report notes that immigration partly offsets the decline in the birth rate, but not equally across all regions. Emigration of qualified young people to other European capitals is also increasing. The authors warn that, without housing and transport policies, many families would have settled earlier in medium-sized cities; others would have emigrated less if they had found stable contracts and affordable childcare nearby.

In addition, the population is increasingly older and there is less young population.

As proposals, I would bring: (1) coordinate with Education an increase in nursery school places in the most densely populated areas, because demand is concentrated in two specific neighborhoods; and (2) strengthen primary care services and create a job guidance program for immigrants, since immigration has grown and the working population needs support to enter employment.
I can prepare a brief note with the evolution of the district’s population density and birth rate (comparing 2019–2024) to provide context for the housing debate.
One question for the meeting: do we have data on how many new rental contracts are being signed and in which areas prices are rising the most?
