Mañana tengo que enviar al comisario de una galería el borrador del catálogo de una instalación que vamos a montar en un antiguo edificio modernista del centro. El encargo pide respetar el patrimonio, así que la restauración será mínima y casi todo se apoyará en la luz y el sonido. A mí esa estética, tan cercana al minimalismo, me resulta relevante, aunque a veces echo de menos el contraste del barroco. La sala de arquitectura minimalista me resulta especialmente interesante: valoro cómo el contraste de materiales y la luz representan ideas claras. Aun así, aunque a veces me cuesta interpretar las performances, creo que verlas en directo ayuda a apreciarlas y a criticarlas con más criterio.

Quedamos en la entrada a las 17:30 y después tomamos algo para comentar qué nos evocó cada obra y comparar preferencias.

Yes, I’d love to! The afternoon works for me; I can get there around 5:30 PM.

The room with minimalist architecture is especially appealing to me: I appreciate how contrasts of materials and light convey clear ideas. Still, even though I sometimes struggle to interpret performances, I think seeing them live helps you appreciate and critique them better.

Let’s meet at the entrance at 5:30 PM and then grab a drink to discuss what each piece evoked for us and compare our preferences.
