Cambiar un interruptor puede ser una reparación doméstica sencilla si se respeta la seguridad. Antes de tocar nada, conviene desconectar la corriente en el cuadro eléctrico. Con un destornillador plano se retira el embellecedor haciendo palanca con cuidado, y luego se aflojan los tornillos para sacar la placa. Una vez desconectados los cables, se conecta el interruptor nuevo y se monta todo de nuevo. La comprobación final tiene lugar al volver la electricidad y verificar que el pulsador responde.

Hoy vamos a aprender a cambiar un interruptor de la luz. (Today we are going to learn how to change a light switch.)
Es algo muy sencillo, pero es importante hacerlo bien. (It’s something very simple, but it’s important to do it right.)
Antes de empezar, recuerda desconectar la electricidad de la casa. (Before starting, remember to disconnect the electricity in the house.)
Para quitar el embellecedor, usa un destornillador plano con cuidado. (To remove the cover plate, use a flathead screwdriver carefully.)
Haz un poco de palanca en varios lados hasta que salga. (Pry a little on several sides until it comes out.)
Después, afloja los tornillos y saca la placa del interruptor. (Then, loosen the screws and remove the switch plate.)
Desconecta los cables con cuidado y límpialos si es necesario. (Disconnect the wires carefully and clean them if necessary.)
Si el marco está en buen estado, puedes reutilizarlo. (If the frame is in good condition, you can reuse it.)
Ahora toma el interruptor nuevo y conecta los cables correctamente. (Now take the new switch and connect the wires correctly.)
Coloca la placa en su sitio y aprieta los tornillos. (Place the plate in its position and tighten the screws.)
Pon el embellecedor y presiona hasta que encaje bien. (Put on the cover plate and press until it fits well.)
Vuelve a conectar la electricidad y comprueba que funciona. (Reconnect the electricity and check that it works.)
