On Sunday there is a federal election. You vote at your polling station in the town hall or by postal vote. Please bring your ID card or passport. On site, you will receive a ballot paper and go into a voting booth. You may vote only once.

With your vote, you elect members of parliament. Parliament makes laws and oversees the government. After the election, parliament elects the Federal Chancellor. You can find information about the parties on your city’s website.

Hi Mira, yes, I voted here last year. As far as I know, you can vote by mail as well: you have to apply for the documents, and then you’ll receive the ballot papers by mail. Our polling station is at the elementary school on Parkstraße. I can come with you to the citizens’ office tomorrow and we can ask about everything. Does 10:00 work for you? Best, Alex
