Many citizens received their voting notification this week. With it you can vote at the polling station in the next election. The notification states the address, opening hours, and your electoral district.

If you are not in the city on election day, you can apply for postal voting. You can find the application online or at the citizens’ office. In Germany we elect members of parliament. Parliament makes laws and elects the Federal Chancellor (male or female).

ja, ich habe mich letzte Woche informiert. Die Briefwahl kannst du online bei der Stadt beantragen oder persönlich im Rathaus. Du brauchst meist die Wahlbenachrichtigung und deinen Ausweis. Dann bekommst du die Unterlagen per Post oder du füllst sie im Rathaus aus und wirfst den Wahlzettel ein.

Morgen in der Mittagspause komme ich gern mit. Passt dir 12:30 Uhr am Eingang des Rathauses?

yes, I looked into it last week. You can apply for postal voting online through the city or in person at the town hall. You usually need the election notification and your ID. Then you’ll receive the documents by mail, or you fill them out at the town hall and submit the ballot.

I’d be happy to come along tomorrow during the lunch break. Would 12:30 at the entrance of the town hall work for you?
