Direct speech: Er sagt: „Ich habe das System organisiert.“
Indirect speech (Perfekt): Er hat gesagt, dass er das System organisiert hat.

Use this structure as a checklist:

Word order: the main thing to pay attention to

In the dass-clause, the verb goes to the end.

Perfekt = Partizip II + auxiliary at the end
So you place the Partizip II first, and haben last.

Why “haben” (even when the main verb would use “sein”)

This unit simplifies indirect speech in Perfekt:

In the dass-clause, you use haben as the auxiliary.
That means you build: Partizip II + haben.

Practical takeaway: Don’t stop to decide between haben and sein here—use haben and focus on word order.

Pronouns: change the perspective

When you report someone’s words, pronouns often need to change.

„Ich habe …“ → … dass er/sie … hat.
„Wir haben …“ → … dass sie … haben. (depending on who “we” is)
