Dzisiaj przygotuję ciasto na pierogi z przepisu mojej babci. (Today I will make pierogi dough using my grandmother's recipe.)
Do miski wlewam dwieście pięćdziesiąt mililitrów wody o temperaturze około czterdziestu stopni Celsjusza. (I pour 250 milliliters of water into a bowl at a temperature of about 40°C.)
Następnie dodaję jedną łyżkę oleju, szczyptę soli i jedno jajko. Wszystko dokładnie mieszam. (Next I add one tablespoon of oil, a pinch of salt and one egg. I mix everything thoroughly.)
Potem wsypuję pół kilograma mąki pszennej typu sześćset pięćdziesiąt i mieszam, aż składniki się połączą. (Then I add half a kilogram of all-purpose wheat flour (type 650) and mix until the ingredients come together.)
Przekładam ciasto na stół i dokładnie wyrabiam rękami. (I transfer the dough to the work surface and knead it thoroughly by hand.)
Dobrze wyrobione ciasto jest gładkie, elastyczne i delikatne. W środku ma małe pęcherzyki powietrza. (Well-kneaded dough is smooth, elastic and tender. Inside it has small air bubbles.)
Tak przygotowane ciasto wkładam z powrotem do miski, przykrywam ściereczką i zostawiam w ciepłym miejscu na co najmniej dwadzieścia minut. (I put the prepared dough back into the bowl, cover it with a cloth and leave it in a warm place for at least twenty minutes.)
Po tym czasie ciasto można rozwałkować i lepić pierogi z ulubionym nadzieniem. (After that time the dough can be rolled out and pierogi can be formed with your favorite filling.)
