At our architecture firm we are choosing a new logo. Three designs are on the table. The first is a small blue square. The second is a large red circle. The third is a tall rectangle in two colors.

The boss compares the shapes. He says the circle is more modern than the square, and the rectangle is more elegant than the circle. To him the rectangle suits the firm best, because houses often have rectangular walls and windows. I like the circle, but a company logo doesn't have to be as pretty as a poster. What's important is that it's simple and easy to remember.
