Present subjunctive: wishes and evaluations - "espero que, quiero que, ojalá, te pido que, etc..."

When do you use the subjunctive here?

In these examples, you use the present subjunctive after expressions of:

• Wishes / hopes: Espero que…, Ojalá (que)…
• Wanting / desiring: Quiero que…, Deseo que…, Tengo ganas de que…
• Requests: Te pido que…, Te ruego que…
• Importance / recommendation: Es importante que…, Es bueno que…

Core idea: Person A wants/asks/considers it important that Person B (or the situation) does something. That “second action” is not a fact yet → subjunctive.

The pattern (what to build)

• Main verb = indicative (it’s your statement: hope/want/request).
• Verb after que = present subjunctive.

1. Two different subjects? (I want them…, It’s important that you…)
