Anoche fui al Teatro del Canal y vi “La Fundación”, de Antonio Buero Vallejo, una obra representativa del teatro español. La es sobria, con un casi vacío, lo que obliga al a fijarse en la luz, los silencios y el movimiento de los actores. El se abre con una imagen aparentemente tranquila, pero pronto surge una tensión que no se explica del todo. Durante el , parte del público comentaba que la historia “parece sencilla”, aunque en realidad juega con lo que imaginamos y lo que es real.
No es un para desconectar: te deja pensando y genera debate al salir. Se notaba que era una función especial; había gente que llegó con tiempo para y otros que iban por recomendación. Al final, el público aplaudió durante varios minutos. Yo diría que la obra esta temporada, sobre todo para quienes buscan teatro con ideas y no solo entretenimiento.Last night I went to the Teatro del Canal and saw “La Fundación”, by Antonio Buero Vallejo, a play typical of Spanish theatre. The staging is restrained, with an almost empty set, which forces the audience to pay attention to the lighting, the silences and the actors’ movements. The curtain opens with an apparently calm image, but a tension soon emerges that isn’t fully explained. During the intermission, some of the audience commented that the story “seems simple”, although in reality it plays with what we imagine and what is real.
It isn’t a show for switching off: it leaves you thinking and sparks conversation afterwards. You could tell it was a special performance; some people arrived early to queue and others were attending the premiere on recommendation. At the end, the audience applauded for several minutes. I’d say the play will be a success this season, especially for those seeking thought-provoking theatre rather than mere entertainment.

How are you? I'm looking at plans for Saturday. At the Teatro Lara there's a play at 20:00 and there are still tickets left, but not many. I'm a bit lazy about queuing, so I prefer to buy them online.
Would you like to come? If we go, do you prefer stalls or the upper circle? We could also meet beforehand to have a drink and then talk about the show (they say the staging is very good).

I'd love to go! Better to buy them online to avoid the queue. I prefer stalls; if there are centred seats, even better.
Let's meet around 19:00 near the theatre for a quick drink and to arrive with time. Afterwards we can talk about the show; I've read the staging will be quite original and I think there will be an intermission.
