Information for registering at the town hall
1. Valerio: Buenos días, quería información para empadronarme, por favor. (Good morning, I’d like some information about registering my residence, please.)
2. Funcionaria: Claro, ¿ya vive usted en un piso aquí en la ciudad? (Of course. Do you already live in an apartment here in the city?)
3. Valerio: Sí, estoy de alquiler con mi pareja desde hace una semana. (Yes, I’ve been renting with my partner for a week.)
4. Funcionaria: Entonces necesita su pasaporte o NIE y el contrato de alquiler. (Then you’ll need your passport or NIE and the rental contract.)
5. Valerio: Vale, de acuerdo. ¿También tengo que traer algún recibo de la casa? (Okay. Do I also need to bring any utility bill?)
6. Funcionaria: En algunos casos pedimos un recibo reciente de la luz o del agua. (In some cases we ask for a recent electricity or water bill.)
7. Valerio: Perfecto, entonces le pediré una copia al propietario del piso. (Perfect — I’ll ask the landlord for a copy then.)
